What are SNAP Benefits?

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal assistance program in the United States aimed at providing nutritious food to low-income individuals and families. The program provides a monthly allotment of benefits issued via an Electronic Benefits Transfer card that can be used like a debit card to purchase eligible food items at authorized retailers.
